Partnership Program Through these initiatives, Sakatoya actively engages in creative and collaborative processes with artists, cultural practitioners, institutions, and art collectives, both locally and internationally.

Minikita: Inkubasi Teater Yogyakarta is a facilitation program supporting the growth of emerging theatre practitioners to develop new works by strengthening artistic and production driven ideas. Guided by a spirit of growth, participants engage in enrichment classes, workshops, networking opportunities, and platforms for presenting their works. The platform is initiated and collaboratively developed by Indonesia Dramatic Reading Festival, Sakatoya, Papermoon Puppet Theatre, Teater Gardanalla, and Kalanari Theatre Movement.

Indonesia Dramatic Reading Festival (IDRF) is a play-reading festival that has taken place since 2009. It remains the only platform in Indonesia dedicated to presenting new and translated plays to the public. From 2018 to 2023, Sakatoya acted as an operational collaborator in the festival’s organizational and governance framework. One of the most significant collaborations occurred in 2019 through the Asian Playwright Meeting, a platform that brought together playwright networks from across Asia.

Konferensi Pertunjukan dan Teater Indonesia is a knowledge production and distribution platform focused on Indonesian performance and theatre studies, initiated in 2019. The conference was established to create a meeting space for academics and practitioners to exchange research, methodologies, and artistic perspectives. Its organization involves postgraduate students, researchers, and various cultural institutions committed to performance discourse. Since 2020, Sakatoya has served as a partner institution, providing production support and technical facilitation to strengthen the conference’s hybrid and live presentation formats.

>>//:{TIMUN_M(α)S}} is a final examination theatre production developed in collaboration between Komunitas Sakatoya and HMJ Teater ISI Yogyakarta. Reimagining the traditional Javanese folktale within a game inspired performance format, the work explores contemporary visual storytelling through theatrical design and staging. The production served as the final project for Evi Bahira as makeup designer, Jansen Goldy as artistic designer and scenographer, and Dennis Iskandar as costume designer. Through this collaboration, Sakatoya supported the creative development and production process, fostering professional artistic standards while engaging emerging practitioners in a collaborative working environment.

ARTJOG is the largest international contemporary art festival in Indonesia. Established in 2008 as part of the Yogyakarta Art Festival, it became an independent platform in 2009 and was officially renamed ARTJOG in 2010. Since 2017, ARTJOG has expanded its program to include a performance stage, strengthening the intersection between visual art and live art practices. Following the COVID 19 pandemic, the festival intensified its commitment to developing the performance sector with greater curatorial and production focus. In 2021, Sakatoya has been entrusted to manage this performance platform, overseeing curatorial direction, stage management, and the technical coordination of hybrid presentations.

Biennale Jogja is an international contemporary art biennale held every two years since 1988. Since 2011, it has developed the Equator concept, positioning the equatorial line at 23.27 degrees North and South Latitude as a conceptual framework for rereading global perspectives through artistic exchange. Organized by Yayasan Biennale Yogyakarta, the biennale encourages dialogue, critical reflection, and alternative approaches to established exhibition conventions. The foundation also initiates the Equator Symposium as a parallel platform for discourse. At Biennale Jogja XVI Equator 6 in 2021, Sakatoya contributed as Artistic Director for the Archive Exhibition and provided technical support for several online programs.
